1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Dishcount ("the Service"), operated by Dishcount LLC, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. Description of Service
Dishcount is a free web application that helps users find grocery deals at local stores and generates AI-powered recipe suggestions based on those deals. The Service includes: nearby store discovery via Google Places, weekly deal aggregation from 80+ grocery chains, AI-generated recipe recommendations, optional user accounts for saving recipes and preferences, and optional Kroger account integration for cart syncing.
4. Account Registration
When you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to: scrape, crawl, or use automated means to collect data from the Service; copy, redistribute, republish, or commercially exploit deal data, recipes, store listings, or any compiled content; exceed reasonable usage rates or systematically download content; circumvent security measures, rate limiting, or access controls; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service; use the Service to build a competing product or service; use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the Service; disrupt, interfere with, or place undue burden on the Service or its infrastructure; use the Service for any unlawful purpose; upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content; or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
6. Data Ownership & Licensing
All compiled data available through the Service — including but not limited to deal compilations, pricing aggregations, recipe content, store listings, category mappings, and database structures — is proprietary to Dishcount LLC and protected as a compiled work under applicable copyright law. Unauthorized scraping, systematic downloading, or redistribution of this data may result in immediate account termination and legal action. 7. Grocery Deals & Pricing
Deal information displayed on the Service is aggregated from third-party sources and may not always be accurate, complete, or current. Prices may vary by store location. Always verify prices and promotions in-store before making purchasing decisions. Dishcount is not responsible for pricing discrepancies between what is displayed on the Service and what is charged at the store.
8. AI-Generated Recipes
Recipes generated by the Service use artificial intelligence and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unexpected ingredient combinations. Always use your own judgment regarding food safety, allergen awareness, and dietary restrictions. Dishcount is not responsible for any adverse outcomes resulting from preparing or consuming AI-generated recipes.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services including Kroger, Walmart, Google, Anthropic, Spoonacular, and Pexels. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms of service and privacy policies. Dishcount is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
10. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is owned by Dishcount LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The Dishcount name, logo, and "Meals from Deals" tagline are trademarks of Dishcount LLC.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. DISHCOUNT LLC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DISHCOUNT LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
13. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the State of Ohio.
