1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Dishcount ("the Service"), operated by Dishcount LLC, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
3. Description of Service
Dishcount is a free web application that helps users find grocery deals at local stores and builds personalized recipe suggestions based on those deals. The Service includes: nearby store discovery via Google Places, weekly deal aggregation from 16 supported grocery chains, personalized recipe recommendations powered by AI, optional user accounts for saving recipes and preferences, optional Kroger account integration for cart syncing, pantry photo scanning for ingredient identification, grocery receipt scanning for savings tracking, family member profile management, shared meal plan links, weekly meal planning, freezer meal recommendations, ingredient substitution suggestions, nutritional information estimates, and community recipe ratings.
4. Account Registration
When you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to: scrape, crawl, or use automated means to collect data from the Service; copy, redistribute, republish, or commercially exploit deal data, recipes, store listings, or any compiled content; exceed reasonable usage rates or systematically download content; circumvent security measures, rate limiting, or access controls; reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service; use the Service to build a competing product or service; use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the Service; disrupt, interfere with, or place undue burden on the Service or its infrastructure; use the Service for any unlawful purpose; upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content; or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
6. Ownership & Permitted Use
What Dishcount owns. Dishcount LLC owns the Service's software, design, database structure, category taxonomy, editorial content, and the original selection, arrangement, and presentation of information displayed through the Service. Recipe content generated through the Service is owned by Dishcount LLC. These are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
What Dishcount does not claim. Dishcount does not claim ownership of underlying factual information such as product names, prices, package sizes, or promotional terms offered by retailers. Those facts originate with the retailers and their suppliers. Dishcount claims rights only in how that information is selected, organized, enriched, and presented.
Third-party data. Some information displayed through the Service is provided by third parties under agreements that restrict its reuse. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to that third-party data.
Permitted personal use. You may view, save, print, and share individual recipes and deals for your own personal, non-commercial use.
Not permitted. Systematic extraction, bulk downloading, or redistribution of content from the Service, or use of the Service's content to build a competing product, is prohibited under Section 5 and may result in termination of access and other remedies available at law.

7. Grocery Deals, Pricing & Savings Estimates
Deal information is aggregated from third-party sources including retailer APIs and published weekly ad circulars. It may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate. Prices and promotions vary by store location, and some offers require a loyalty card, a clipped digital coupon, a minimum purchase, or a quantity condition that may not be fully reflected on the Service.
Always verify prices and promotion terms at the store before purchasing. Dishcount is not responsible for differences between what is displayed here and what your store charges.
Savings figures are estimates. Any savings amount, discount percentage, or comparison to a regular price displayed on the Service is an estimate derived from advertised information. Reference prices are not independently verified by Dishcount, and where a reference price is unavailable, no savings figure is shown. Estimated weekly or annual savings described anywhere on the Service reflect illustrative household examples and are not a prediction of your results, which depend on your household, your stores, and your purchasing decisions.
Reporting an error. If a price appears wrong, please report it through our contact form. We remove or correct contested entries promptly.
8. AI-Generated Content
Recipes generated by the Service use artificial intelligence and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unexpected ingredient combinations. Always use your own judgment regarding food safety, allergen awareness, and dietary preferences. Dishcount is not responsible for any adverse outcomes resulting from preparing or consuming AI-generated recipes.
9. Nutritional Information Disclaimer
All nutritional values displayed on Dishcount (calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber) are AI-generated estimates and may not be accurate. This information is provided for general reference only and should not be used for medical dietary planning. Consult a healthcare professional or registered dietitian for precise nutritional guidance.
10. Photo Processing
When you use the pantry scan or receipt scan features, the photo you submit is transmitted to our third-party AI provider for analysis.
Dishcount does not store your photos. We do not retain the image after processing, and we do not save it to your profile or share it with anyone other than our AI provider for the purpose of completing your request. From pantry scans we retain only the identified ingredients; from receipt scans we retain only the store name, total amount, and estimated savings.
Handling of the image by our AI provider is governed by that provider's own data handling and retention practices, which may include limited retention for safety and abuse monitoring. We do not control those practices.
By using these features, you authorize Dishcount to transmit your photo to our AI provider for ingredient identification or receipt reading. Do not submit photos containing sensitive personal information you would not want processed by a third-party service.
11. Shared Meal Plans
If you share a meal plan, you are responsible for the content shared. Shared plans are accessible to anyone with the link for 7 days, after which they are automatically deleted. Dishcount does not moderate shared plan content.
12. Community Content
User-submitted recipes and ratings represent the views of individual users, not Dishcount. By submitting a recipe or rating, you grant Dishcount a non-exclusive license to display it to other users. Dishcount may remove user-generated content that violates these terms.
13. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services including Kroger, Google, Anthropic, and Pexels. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms of service and privacy policies. Dishcount is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
14. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is owned by Dishcount LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The Dishcount name, logo, and "Meals from Deals" tagline are trademarks of Dishcount LLC.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. DISHCOUNT LLC DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
16. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DISHCOUNT LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
17. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
18. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
19. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the State of Ohio.
